Two felony arrests were reported in Walker County on Saturday. 32-year-old Dante LaNeal Stewart was booked Saturday night and charged with possession of a schedule II.

 

Cloudland at McLemore Resort has opened. It’s hailed as being one of the largest private investments in the history of Walker County. It’s a 245-room hotel and event center on Lookout Mountain. The resort employs just over 200 people. During peak season that number is expected to swell to more than 300. The facility is expected to generate nearly 3-million in sales tax revenue.

 

The latest restaurant health inspection shows a 96 for the Sonic in LaFayette. The LaFayette Golf Club scored a 100.

 

A Murray County man has been arrested on charges of trafficking methamphetamine, the sheriff’s office said.

Murray County authorities arrested Joseph Lamar Henderson of Chatsworth. They said he had active felony warrants. The arrest followed a traffic stop Monday on a vehicle with two occupants. Henderson was the passenger in the car. The sheriff’s office said Henderson consented to a search, and deputies found four ounces of meth and other illegal substances. Henderson faces the following charges: Possession of meth, Possession of meth with intent to distribute, Trafficking of meth, Possession of a schedule 1 controlled substance. Authorities booked him into the Murray County Detention Center.
