The LaFayette Police Department is looking to speak with two individuals involved in an incident at the LaFayette Wal-Mart.

Walker County plan on paving approximately 50 miles of roads this year. The Board of Commissioners approved the paving list last month. 66-roads are on the list to be paved this year. The county is currently in the process of soliciting bids to hire a contractor. A recommendation will be presented at the April 11th board meeting. Once the contract is awarded, county officials hope paving work will start in May or June.

On Wednesday February 21st, a Chattooga County Jury convicted Vincent Ray Hix of aggravated battery. The jury took less than 20 minutes to find the 35-year-old Hix guilty. During an argument with his girlfriend, Hix struck her with an object. The woman suffered a fractured nose and lacerations to her face. Judge Don Thompson sentenced Hix to 10-years in jail with 20 years to serve on probation.
