A follow up on a story from earlier this week. The Walker County Animal Shelter remains closed to intake due to potential parvo exposure. A puppy adopted from the shelter tested positive for parvo. According to Elanco, a company that tracks parvo cases across the county, there are currently 10 known cases in Walker County. Parvo is a disease which attacks a dog’s stomach and intestinal lining. If your dog gets infected with the virus they will stop eating and possibly begin vomiting and diarrhea. While the shelter remains closed to intake you can still adopt adult dogs at the shelter.
Three felony arrests in Walker County on Tuesday. 57-year-old Stacy Lee Wallen was arrested on two counts of possession of amphetamines. 59-year-old Jamer Edward Henry faces felony theft charges.
According to statistics released yesterday by Representative Majorie Taylor Greene, fentanyl deaths in Georgia’s 14th District have jumped 350%. Greene released a statement yesterday citing the increase from 2019 through 2022. Greene says that 300 Americans die every day from fentanyl being smuggled across the southern border. Green is asking for President Joe Biden to secure the border.
A man and a woman in Ringgold face several charges after authorities say they found a lot of fentanyl and a stolen car at their home. Deputies with the Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a home on Fallbrooke Lane on Tuesday, according to Sheriff Gary Sisk. That raid came after “an extensive investigation into the sales of narcotics,” according to a release. Sisk says investigators located “40 grams of fentanyl, a pill press, along with other items associated in the manufacturing and distribution of narcotics.” The sheriff says authorities also located a vehicle that had been stolen. James Brayden Blevins and Stephanie Catherin Barbarello were arrested. Both face multiple charges.
The Murray County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in locating a runaway teen. Whitney Ellis is 5′ 5″ and weighs 150 pounds, auburn hair with blonde highlights.
