Walker County Schools Superintendent Damon Raines has announced the new CEO of Walker LAUNCH College and Career Academy. Dr. Zac Wilson has been tabbed as the new leader. Wilson had been the principal at Cherokee Ridge Elementary School. The Walker LAUNCH campus is located at Georgia Northwestern Technical College.
Six felony arrests in Walker County on Monday. 34-year-old Michael Tyler McGill was booked on possession of meth and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
An update on a story from yesterday. The Walker County Sheriff’s Office says that 33-year-old Daniel Padavana has been found and is safe. Padavana had been reported missing since last being seen on Saturday.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed off the state budget yesterday. The $36.1-billion budget begins July 1st. The new budget will boost the pay for public school teachers and state employees. The budget also increases spending on education, health care and mental health. When you include federal money and other funds, the state of Georgia will spend nearly $67-billion in the next fiscal year.
