To keep citizens safe, The LaFayette Fire Department has established guidelines for the outdoor warning siren. The siren alerts citizens outdoors of imminent hazards and prompts them to seek shelter. The siren will sound for 3 minutes and be re-sounded every 3-5 minutes until the threat has passed. The siren will be tested the first Wednesday of every month. . There will be no “all clear” signal from the siren.

Seven felony arrests Tuesday in Walker County. Six were probation violations. 41-year-old Michael Dewayne Willis was arrested on a theft of vehicle charge.
The Chickamauga Battlefield is honoring Mark Thrash. A display of Thrash is now set up inside the Visitor Center at the Fort Oglethorpe entrance. Thrash was born a slave and became a laborer for the park after the Civil War. Thrash passed away in 1943. The exhibit features many artifacts found at his cabin during an archaeological excavation conducted in 1975.
The Ethan Thompson era of LaFayette High School Football gets its unofficial start tomorrow night. The Ramblers will have their Orange and Black spring game as they put a wrap on spring practice. Thompson is in his first spring as the LaFayette head coach. The game gets underway at 7pm at Jeff Suttle Field. The weather is expected to cooperate.
