Last month was the 28th wettest January on record in LaFayette and Walker County. The area had been suffering from drought conditions for several months. Rainfall over the next three months is expected to be enough to keep the area out of drought conditions. This comes from the latest release from the National Intergrated Drought Information System.

The latest restaurant inspect report. Clara’s Place in LaFayette scored an 83. Cracker Barrel in Ringgold scored a 77. Logans Roadhouse in Fort Oglethorpe received an 82.

Georgia leads the nation in new clean energy projects. State wide there are 19 projects happening, employing 39,000 people and more than 13 million dollars is coming in from private investors for these projects. The news comes from a new economic analysis by BW Research.

The Region 6-AAA Championships are set for today. In the boys bracket, Ridgeland will face Adairsville for the title. LFO will meet Coahulla Creek in the consolation game to determine 3rd place. Over in Region 7-AAAA, Heritage’s boys finished in 3rd place yesterday. The Generals topped Cedartown 66-46.
