          The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest tied to a series of vehicle-related crimes in Naomi.  Authorities say the individual, shown in released photos, is wanted for questioning in connection with multiple entering auto incidents and a vehicle theft reported April 24th.  You can view the photos on DiscoverWalker.com.  Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Michael Durham at 706-670-1970 or by email at [email protected]. Anonymous tips can also be submitted online.  The investigation is ongoing.
          Three felony arrests were made Monday in Walker County.  Forty-four-year-old Tiffany Jeanette Gladden was charged with identity theft. Forty-six-year-old Willard Shane Ingram was arrested for violation of parole.  Authorities also report a 16-year-old juvenile was taken into custody on multiple charges, including damage to government property and criminal trespassing.
          Georgia is now under a Level 1 Drought Response, according to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.  Residents are being asked to conserve water by limiting outdoor watering. Landscape watering should only take place between 4 p.m. and 10 a.m. each day.  Officials say these voluntary measures are aimed at reducing strain on water supplies as dry conditions continue across the state.
          A free Medicare education event is coming to Trenton next month.  The event is scheduled for May 20th at 11:30 a.m. at the Dade County Historic Courthouse.  Organizers say the event is strictly informational, with no sales pitches, and will cover enrollment, plan options, and how to avoid costly mistakes.  The session is open to those nearing age 65, current beneficiaries, caregivers, and anyone seeking clarity on Medicare. Light refreshments will be provided.
