The annual audit report of governmental and business activities in Walker County will be presented during the Walker County Board of Commissioners meeting on Thursday, March 14, 2024. The report covers the period from October 1, 2022, to September 30, 2023, and spans 112 pages. Prepared by Rushton LLC, the document is now available for public review.
Public Safety accounts for 39% of the budget, remaining unchanged from FY2022, making it the largest categorical expense. Property taxes constitute the largest categorical revenue source at 27%, surpassing sales tax which held the top spot in FY2022.
