A portion of East Brotherton Road at Chickamauga Battlefield is closed to traffic as crews begin a road-paving project.
Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park says the closure began Wednesday, September 23, and affects East Brotherton Road between Alexander’s Bridge Road and Jay’s Mill Road.
According to the National Park Service, the project is part of routine road maintenance aimed at improving visitor safety and the overall experience for those traveling through the battlefield.
All public traffic will be prohibited on the affected section of East Brotherton Road while construction is underway.
Visitors and commuters are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid the closure. Motorists traveling near the construction area should slow down and use caution around workers and equipment.
The park thanked visitors and area residents for their patience while the work is completed.
