As the end of the school year approaches, Local High School (LHS) is gearing up to administer state-mandated End of Course tests. Parents and guardians of students enrolled in English 3, US History, Biology, or Algebra 1 are encouraged to take note of the testing schedule and important preparation details.

Scheduled from Monday, May 13th to Wednesday, May 15th, these tests carry significant weight, accounting for 20% of the final grade in the aforementioned core subjects, crucial for graduation requirements. It’s emphasized that students must take these tests to earn credit for their classes.

A requirement for testing success is ensuring students arrive with their Chromebooks fully charged. LHS administration stresses that no classroom Chromebooks will be available for students who fail to bring theirs fully charged. Failure to have a charged Chromebook could also impact eligibility for the Believers Day reward trip, scheduled for Tuesday, May 21st, to Coolidge Park in Chattanooga.

In preparation for the tests, LHS has organized important review sessions to familiarize students with testing expectations. The schedule for these sessions is as follows:

  • Wednesday, May 8th: Meeting with students enrolled in English 3 and US History.
  • Thursday, May 9th: Meeting with Algebra 1 and Biology students.

Additionally, parents and guardians are urged to ensure their children get a good night’s rest before each testing date to optimize performance.

School admin encourages parents with questions or concerns to contact the school at 706-638-2342 and ask to speak to their child’s guidance counselor.

LHS is eager for its students, known as Ramblers, to showcase their knowledge and skills during these state tests and is dedicated to supporting them every step of the way.
