CHATTANOOGA, TN – Applications are open for high school students looking to learn about a variety of career paths through the summer BASF TECH Academy program at Chattanooga State Community College.
BASF TECH Academy introduces rising high school juniors and seniors to jobs in the fields of science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) through skills classes, workshops, and industry tours. Attendees can take a peek inside a day in the life of a chemical operator, welder, automation technician, and more.
ChattState faculty members lead classroom instruction on topics like engineering practices, 3D printing, mechatronics, and robotics, and tours of off-site settings help students apply what they’ve learned in a real-world setting. Students will attend Branch Technology, BASF, Racoon Mountain, Chattanooga Bakery, and Southern Champion Tray.
“TECH Academy delivers engaging educational experiences, combining in-depth classroom learning with tours of local facilities, while drawing on the expertise of manufacturing industry leaders to help students explore the various technical career options that lie ahead,” said Shelly King, site director at BASF’s Chattanooga site.
Funded by BASF, the Academy is free for students to attend. Ready to get started? Apply here! Applications close on Friday, April 11.
