Janet Mae Precise Hicks, age 73 of Rossville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 13, 2023. She was born in Scottsboro, AL, moved to the North Georgia area at a young age and was of the Baptist Faith. Janet enjoyed crocheting, planting flowers in the yard, but most of all spending time with her family and companion, Daisy. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who will be greatly missed. Janet was also preceded in death by her husband, James Preston Hicks Sr.; brother, Bobby Precise; and nephew, Tommy Maynor. She is survived by her children, James Preston Hicks Jr., Tracy Hicks, Randy (Tiffany) Hicks Sr. and Tammy Hicks; sister, Glenda (Howard) Thomas; 19 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday. Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Ft. Oglethorpe Chapel.
