Ricky Wayne Daniel
April 9, 1948 - March 11, 2024

Ricky Wayne Daniel, 75 of Chickamauga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 11, 2024. He was born in Chickamauga, Georgia on April 9, 1948 to the late Glenn Whitlow & Bessie Clair Smith Daniel and had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life. He was an Air Force Veteran, having served his country during the Vietnam War and was a member of Way of the Cross Baptist Church in Kensington. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, pawpaw, great-pawpaw and friend that will be truly missed by all who knew him.

Ricky enjoyed fishing, playing cornhole & horseshoes, working in his garden, taking care of his chickens, & canning his fruits and vegetables. He loved working his produce stand and probably gave away as much as he sold.

He had a great love for God and his church. He was honored to be a deacon at New Friendship Baptist & his home church, Way of the Cross Baptist Church, for over 4 decades, as well as a choir director for many years.

He was grateful for the special bonds he had with his brothers and sister-in-law: Jerry & Pat Bowman, Faye Gibson, & Terry and Cheryl Bowman, whom he loved very much.

Survivors include his loving wife of more than 56 years, Barbara Ann Bowman Daniel; children & spouses, Richard & (Jyoti) Daniel, Todd & (Taylor) Daniel and Kayla & (Wesley) Blakemore; brother, Larry Daniel; sisters & brother-in-law, Carolyn Bradford, Glenda Richardson and Sheila & (Michael) Dunwoody; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and numerous extended family & friends.
His family finds comfort in knowing that he is with Jesus in his Heavenly home, where he is able to see all of its beauty and walk the streets of gold. We love him and will miss him until the day we are reunited in Glory

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m., Monday, March 18, 2024 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Online guest book at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by W. L.
