Georgia voters have until Monday to register for the November third midterm election. The October fifth deadline applies to anyone who has recently turned 18, moved to Georgia, changed addresses, or has never registered. Voters can check their registration status and register online through the Secretary of State’s My Voter Page. Early voting begins October 13th and continues through October 30th.
Georgia tourism continues to set records. Governor Brian Kemp says a record 175-point-six million visitors came to Georgia in 2025, spending 46-point-two billion dollars on hotels, restaurants, transportation and other businesses. That’s more than two percent higher than the previous record set in 2024. Tourism also generated five-point-three billion dollars in state and local tax revenue, an average savings of nearly thirteen hundred dollars per Georgia household.
Dade County residents dealing with discolored water are getting an update from the county. The Dade County Water and Sewer Authority says 218 customers reported water discoloration as of last month. Officials say water-main repairs, fire hydrant use and prolonged heat can stir up naturally occurring minerals in the water lines. The authority says water leaving the treatment plant meets standards, and crews are flushing lines in affected areas.
LaFayette Volleyball finishes the regular season 39-5. The Ramblers picked up wins over Model and Cedartown last night. The 7AAA Region Tournament starts Monday. LaFayette gets a double-bye and won’t play again until the semi-finals on Wednesday.
